Time to Dye: Powerful Mystic Forge Strategy

This video explains in full detail how I've been making insane amounts of gold turning fine dyes into masterwork ones. The biggest prize of them all is gold dye, which instantly nets you 3 gold or almost 4 gold if you're willing to wait for it to sell. There's more to this strategy than just getting masterworks, however, as a lot of fine dyes are actually quite profitable. Most players don't know this, and so they assume that using the mystic forge is the equivalent to flushing gold down a toilet. Hence the "Mystic Toilet" phrase that many use on Reddit and forums.

Think about it... if you spend a little under 2 silver per combination (don't forget that 16 dyes = 5 tries) and are only hoping for masterworks, then you're going to lose a lot of gold doing this. But what if some of your "failed" attempts were profitable... now we're getting somewhere!

I prove in this video that there's more to using the Mystic Forge than just hoping for an upgrade every time. In fact, one of the dyes in the video is a fine quality one that sells for 48 silver!!! Most people would just use that fine dye again in the forge, effectively flushing all that money away. I teach you how to find those winners quickly in this video.

There's a few more great tips in the video guide, and I hope it leads to you mastering the mystic forge with completely unrelated strategies that you find on your own.

I've had videos like this one already on my Secret Forum for a while, so be sure to become a member ASAP for all my old ideas as well as new ones. You can find them in the "Markco's Crazy Thoughts" section of the boards.

I'm doing my best to get more videos up on my youtube channel, and to that end I could use your ideas. Are there any videos that you would like to see created on making gold in Guild Wars 2? Farming specific items perhaps? Let me know in the comments and I'll see what I can do!

What kind of person writes something like that? You need to reevaluate your life.

Why do you do that to me? I did this every week and like the announcement of this "technique" on another site, some months ago, again your anouncement made it practicall impossible to do so.

I have to say if i where you, i would make so much gold of these announcements since you practically manipulate the market for a short time... just buying huge amounts of dye, dropping the announcement and reselling them would make you what? Up to 60g instant?

    1. This strategy is actually quite new. Nobody else that I've seen has recommended that you check the value of the non-upgrade results from the forge. They all just say "keep going until you get a bunch of upgraded items" or something similar.

    2. The point of this post is to show you what's possible... there are far more methods that work thanks to that one little tip about checking the value of even the non-upgraded results.

    3. I could profit from these kinds of posts, but I choose not to. Besides, the market will stabilize and work in a few weeks. In the mean time, use some of the other forge strategies that have flown under the radar thus far. If you know this one you can find the others!

I was just teasing a bit because of the market overrun now trough your post nothing more hehe
    Didn't mean any offense.
Only thing i have to add, na this strategie isn't new at all. It's around for half a year at least. And anyone who jumps into this(or any other) market without knowing the value of things is just blind. ;)

It's like saying "well you can buy those dyes for 15s too and drop them in to see if you get anything better". I mean you can but if it's worth it? hehe

I really appreciate your work don't get me wrong i have learned quite a few things from it. It just bothered me a bit that i have one market less for a while now and i wanted to rant a bit about it. :D

So the stuff that is worth selling. Do you "Meet highest buyer" ? or wait and "Match Lowest seller" ? sometimes the difference is 20 copper between the two.

No harm done! Just wanted to make sure you were ok for the future! Thanks for taking the time to write such a nice message.

To next anon... I mean buy order, so yeah you lose in profit but gain in selling speed.
